Happy New Year 2025

We made it with another blessed and fortunate year here at COMEC. Here is an update for your review of our efforts in 2024:

First off, between COVID and the closing of Juvenile Court for 4 months with no access to our office, we are pleased to report that we have made it through the storm and have been able to continue to offer services and continued contact with the public without interruption.  There are many nonprofits and businesses who were not so lucky.  In our case, it was only a little luck.  We followed the principles of “prior planning prevents poor performance!.”  In fact, we reduced expenses, we made do with what we had on hand and we each worked remotely to meet the needs of the organization.

Thank you all for your continued support of our efforts to promote the safety and protection of all children and caregivers.  As we begin this new year and chapter, one of our many goals for the year is achieving a succession plan for the future, which means aggressively soliciting more funding, recruitment of new volunteers along with creating additional volunteer opportunities.  In addition to this we will recruit new members for consideration to our Board.

Raising awareness of our services is always crucial in order to inform the public of the help they can receive when they contact us.

There are a few awareness causes for the month of January coming up:

  • January is National Stalking Awareness Month.
  • January is National Mentoring Month- If you have ever mentored, this can have such a positive effect on lives, especially in teens and children.

May this year bring prosperity, peace, and happiness to all of you.
